Saturday
After work, Jason & I went to Chinatown to collect our tickets from the agency.
Chinatown would be a good place to walk about and excellent choice to snap around if the weather is good.
Yesterday's weather was just right. Not too humid nor overly sunny, windy or rainy.
After collection, we were feeling a lil peckish. We walked around looking for food and being a "smart-alec", I randomly suggested this "famous" porridge stall. Well...I do rem' a famous porridge stall but I guess I just forgot where it actually is located.(No..I am not talking about the one at the Maxwell market.)

Porridge just ain't so cheap but again...It has been some time since I last ate a porridge.
We ordered 鸡丝粥 and I for a 'X' time got the 鸡丝粥 that I hate!
From the looks of it, it still seems alright. No egg, no you-tiao,it's ok. But I just hate it when people gave 鸡块粥when they are selling 鸡丝粥!
鸡丝 is supposed to be shredded chicken and is from the breast part. They just conveniently threw in a few pieces of chicken parts with SKIN somemore and sell it to us! Wtf!
If I wanna eat 鸡块,I might as well just ordered 鸡粥 right?
I finished the porridge and left all the chicken parts behind. My bowl has more skin than Jason's loh. Wth!
People...Just rem' that signboard. Unless you don't mind or wanna try others, don't visit it.
But then again there are alot of stalls that just sell 鸡块粥 when I ordered 鸡丝粥. Sigh.

The streets of Chinatown.
We walked around Chinatown Plaza and it is like walking through an airy and more spacious Bugis Street for aunties. I was a lil' amazed,y'know.
Then we con'td roaming around and find some good spots of phototaking.
Just like these...!
Welcome to my house. =3
Sorry, we are not open yet. Pleease come by later.
Ebay, you could find anything, possibly. And we preferred paying by Paypal.

This is super funny. We stumbled upon a night KTV lounge with some dubious and really some fugly photos pasted outside. I supposed they are the hostness of the KTV lounge and they have really funny pose. So...I joined in.
That is one alley and I thought it is a supposed good spot for photo taking with the leaves of the trees hanging just right there. Jason asked me to hold the leave and posed. He then exclaimed,"Next time your children will laughed at you saying you very o-bit."
This is the same pose that your parents' generation would pose...Lolx.
I asked him to eat the leaves and let his children have a chance to laugh too.
Now this is my favourite spot I came across.

I thought the place just evokes alot of 'feels' looking at it. Or maybe it is just me with one way street.
We took a photo each and I kinda like it.
The original photos.

The photos might look better if we were less tired looking(after so much walking) and better prep.
The effectify ones.

I couldn't decide which one I like better.
We had our feet rest at Amara Hotel (One chui hotel with super flousy "shopping" mall.)
Now friends, I have another place that I recommend you NOT to go if you stopby Amara hotel.
There's B.K, Spinelli, Subway and this...
It's called Chinatown American Bakery Cafe.

They have some pretty decent looking muffins, puddings, pies etc.

And the overall decor of the cafe is not bad too....
It costs slightly cheaper than Spinelli so we decided to try it here.
It was run by these 2 ah gong and ah ma. We ordered 2 ice blended mocha and Jason added in a choco chip muffin.
Spoiler part came in now.
That ah ma heard wrongly and gave us two ice lemon teas when Jason politely told her that our order is ice mocha. She then present us this frustrated look and keep making that kinda sound when you are fussy or frustrated.
Jason later explained that she was feeling frustrated with herself but honestly, it is such a TURN OFF when you are the customer loh! Wth!
Even you feel frustrated with yourself, you shouldn't do it infront of the customers. If she isn't old and grey, I would have show her my face too!
The food came and it looked alright. But when I drank that ice mocha, I almost puke out. It tasted more like artificial milk powder which some ultra cheapskate bubbletea shops would use for their milktea. It's ultra TMD.
$4.50 for that ice mocha!
Muffin was a lil too crispy from the outside and inside was a lil too soft. It wasn't inedible but also nothing that I would give a thumb up for.
Overall, BOO!!
Emo pic there.
Jason was talking or explaining to me about something which I totally forget what was he talking about now and I lost interest listening. Instead I was folding the napkin....
and he stopped talking suddenly and gave me the (T_T) face. LOLX!
We walked back to Chinatown and up to Clarke Quay! So it was like from Chinatown to Tanjong Pagar, back to Chinatown up to Clarke Quay. Whoa! Ok lah..wasn't exactly that long of a distance but I was tired by the time I reached Funan.
Rested at Jollybean for a while before we went back to his house. My intentions was to go back and watch the 7.30pm Cha U korean show last episode and he cooked maggie mee for dinner.
That was how it goes eventually but I became moody for a while.
Maybe I was too tired and then a lil' grossed out at his house (....Euuch!) but when the show starts, I picked up a lil.
Pretty much how my Saturday went. Hope I can watch Batman next Sat.
Up next another entry for thought but now lunch and housework first.
My typical Sunday!
Heartx!
